 Water Level Update

The rain continues to fall and we’ve just see a huge spike in river flow over the last couple of days, making for a very plentiful whitewater training season and a very promising Avon Descent race weekend!

There’s a current severe weather warning for today so enjoy and be sure to take extra precautions while training on the river.

 

Final week for Seeding Race #2

Under the new paddler seeding program this year, the second seeding race coming up is the 18th July is the LiveLighter Northam to Toodyay race and is significant in collecting seeding points for Avon Descent start grids. There’s only one week left to enter. REMEMBER: If you enter the Avon Descent before the seeding races you will collect an extra 5 points per seeding race!

The event is fast approaching and we are now in the final weeks of standard entries for the event. After this late fees will apply. The rain is already falling so we know the levels are going to be great so get in now!

Powerboating update

Powerboaters have wrapped up two of their key races for the season in June, the Nannup Cup and the Sunnyside Sprint Race. We got to see some great new powerboats which you might see a bit more regularly over the coming months!

Avon Descent Family Fun Days!

The Avon Descent festivals are back in 2021 with fresh new visuals. Keep an eye out in your local area for these great bus wraps showing off festivals in Northam, Toodyay, Swan and Bayswater.

Avon Descent Dragons

Introducing the all new Avon Descent Dragons

In 2021 the Avon Descent introduces for the first time a dedicated Dragonboating element into the Avon Descent race schedule and welcoming on board our new partners, Dragonboating WA. Competing in a 6km course from Bassendean to Bayswater, this is will be an amazing sight coming into the finish line.

Avon Descent DFES Team!

The Avon Descent has been endorsed as an official DFES training event for 2021. Veteran competitor and former Act Belong Commit ambassador Garth Civil will be putting together a great team of paddlers and camping over at the Cobbler Pool overnight camp this year as part of Buddy Up Australia. A true example of the Act Belong Commit message.
